Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is a powerful medicine that can be used to treat a variety of health concerns. Herbs have been modified for use in pharmaceutical drugs for some time now. Constituents, or active components, of herbs have been isolated for their ability to induce change on a cellular level in the body. When we use the whole plant, we get more of a synergistic effect, with less potential to cause harm. Although potential for side effects, overdosing or toxicity is much less than with use of their pharmaceutical distant cousins, whole herbs are still powerful and need to be used responsibly. Herbs are excellent for digestive issues, hormone balancing, immune support and many other concerns. There are different methods of preparing herbs that allow for varying potency, prioritization of components extracted for specific purpose, as well as cost modification. Methods of preparation include poultices, healing salves, teas/infusions, and tinctures.
